From a tradition spanning thousands of years comes a piece of art that is a wonderful mix of beauty and practicality…
Alperstein’s Aboriginal Art collection is a bright collection of accessories that feature the artworks of some of Australia’s finest artists. With their bold colours and amazing designs, these pieces do true justice to the works on which they’re based…and you’ll find them really handy too!
Born in Mt. Doreen around 1925, Liddy Walker Napanangka spent her youth living with her family in bush camps. She paints her father’s and her grandfather’s dreaming.
One such painting, “Pirlarla Jukurrpa”, (“Dogwood Tree Bean Dreaming”), represents the Dogwood Tree and the story of the women of Napurrurla who collected seeds and pods from it. The wood from the tree is used to make boomerangs and is good for burning because the rain never extinguishes it. This gorgeous painting with its orange, yellow and black colouring is beautifully featured on this drink bottle from Alperstein.
Made from stainless steel, with a leak-proof mouth-piece, this drink bottle is a powerful way to make this art come alive. It includes a small leaflet explaining the significance and historical context of the artwork, and with a key chain and hook attached, you’ll always be carrying around something truly special.
