Waterford. The name stands out, as clear as the beautiful crystal for
which it is famous. Once you’ve seen a piece of this beautiful,
light-filled crystal; held it in your hand and twirled it in the light,
you’ll never forget it…
It was back in 1783 that two brothers started a little crystal factory
in Waterford, one of Ireland’s busiest ports. Soon enough, ships began
to sail all over the world, laden with beautiful Waterford crystal.
Waterford’s reputation grew over the following years, and it looked like
the future for Waterford was as bright and shiny as their crystal...but
it wasn’t to be, and the company suddenly collapsed.
Years passed…but no one forgets Waterford Crystal.
As Europe was struggling to recover from the Second World War, Waterford
Crystal rose from the ashes. The Waterford factory was rebuilt, not
very far away from its original location. Its pieces paid tribute to the
original, beautiful Waterford pieces, and this time, Waterford
flourished. Today, Waterford Crystal graces tables all over the world.
Everyone knows the name – and no one forgets the quality.
A departure from ‘special occasion’, the Waterford Jasper Conran range of crystal has been designed for everyday living. Modern and functional, the glass is cut only where shape necessitates, emphasising the beauty of the bold lines and the exemplary quality of the crystal itself.
Flowers make every room look better no matter how you present them…but if you’ve gone to the trouble and expense of getting fresh flowers, you might as well make them look as good as possible.
