It was back in 1783 that two brothers started a little crystal factory in Waterford, one of Ireland’s busiest ports. Soon enough, ships began to sail all over the world, laden with beautiful Waterford crystal. Waterford’s reputation grew over the following years, and it looked like the future for Waterford was as bright and shiny as their crystal...but it wasn’t to be, and the company suddenly collapsed.
Years passed…but no one forgets Waterford Crystal.
As Europe was struggling to recover from the Second World War, Waterford Crystal rose from the ashes. The Waterford factory was rebuilt, not very far away from its original location. Its pieces paid tribute to the original, beautiful Waterford pieces, and this time, Waterford flourished. Today, Waterford Crystal graces tables all over the world. Everyone knows the name – and no one forgets the quality.
