During her life, author, photographer and artist Ricky Lauren, wife of iconic designer Ralph Lauren, has resided in four parts of the Hamptons: Southampton, Amagansett, Easthampton, and Montauk. And these places have become the building blocks of her fabulous cooking and lifestyle book, aptly named The Hamptons.
From her rustic Southampton kitchen to her isolated Japanese-inspired home in Montauk, Ricky has found that each and every place she called home made a profound impact on the way she developed her culinary and artistic skills. And so within The Hamptons
, she invites us in to these spaces of inspiration (each its own chapter) where she brings her tastes and discoveries to life through her gorgeous watercolour artworks and food photography.
And of course, her cooking!
The cuisine within The Hamptons
is based very much on the seaside a fresh produces of the areas in which Ricky lived. Between snapshots of her own life and writings on history, you’ll find recipes for such meals as Banana-Blueberry Whole Wheat Pancakes, Grilled Swordfish Steaks, Country Chicken Chilli and Mussels in Herbed White Wine Sauce.
