When Royal Doulton was granted its royal warrant – which allowed them to adopt the “Royal” title – by King Edward VII in 1901, it was the beginning of a relationship with Royal Doulton and the British royal family that's still strong today.
The Royal Commemoratives figurine collection pays tribute to Royal Doulton’s long relationship with the English Monarchy, depicting not only members of the Royal Family, but also many of the most important moments in their history.
And few moments have been as memorable in recent years than the birth of Prince George of Cambridge. Son of Prince William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, his birth caused excitement worldwide. Naturally, Royal Doulton has decided to commemorate the birth of His Royal Highness with a stunning figurine.
This limited-edition piece, modelled by Neil Welch, depicts the first appearance of William, Catherine and their newborn prince outside on the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, where Prince George was born on July 22nd, 2013. This exquisitely-detailed figurine captures all the joy and emotion of the moment, including the warm expressions on William and Catherine’s faces. Catherine wears her now-famous sky blue dress, scattered with delicate white spots, along with the intense sapphire engagement ring that once belonged to Princess Diana.
Nobody commemorates a Royal moment quite
like Royal Doulton.
