The word tamahagane means precious steel
. It referred to a very specific tradition, combining particular steels with rolling techniques to create tools and weapons. It is little wonder why Tamahagane took the name to create these knives.
Using modern techniques, and contemporary steel of course, the knives begin with an original thickness of 20mm, which is then thinned by repeated rolling - removing steel impuirities. Left with a thin 3-ply blade, these knives are sharp, efficient and stunning.
