Every music genre has its icons, past or present.
But some genres have to share the spotlight. Sometimes there’s just too much talent in one performing scene, and it explodes in to something legendary.
This is exactly what happened in the ‘50s, when actor Humphrey Bogart and his friends told they looked like a “rat pack” by Bogart’s wife Lauren after a night out in Las Vegas. The name stuck, and although the group featured a revolving door of comers and goers, there were a few actors and musicians who slogged it out with The Rat Pack for decades.
Namely, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. There was always much fuss whenever one member of the pack performed alone, because usually the other guys would appear as well for an impromptu act. People slept in their cars and in hotel lobbies just to be a part of The Rat Pack’s sold out shows. Now, you can re-live the momentous musical pieces of the groups’ shows, with Icon: The Rat Pack.
Ain’t That A Kick In the Head, That’s Amore, Witchcraft, The Boy's Night Out
; they’re just some of the tracks you’ll hear on this compilation album. They prove that you don’t have to be a musical historian to know the greats – because you’ll always remember their names and sounds.
