Waterford. The name stands out, as clear as the beautiful crystal for which it is known.
In 1783, two brothers started a little crystal factory in Waterford, one of Ireland’s busiest ports. Before long, ships began to sail all over the world, laden with beautiful Waterford crystal. Over the years, the Waterford name became synonymous with immaculate quality and exquisite design, and today Waterford Crystal is widely recognised as among the best the world has to offer.
Introduced in 1952, Lismore has become Waterford’s most successful crystal pattern to date – and really, is it any wonder? The final word in opulent living, Lismore has lent its distinctive grace to abodes of all shapes and sizes. And now, after more than sixty years, Lismore’s timeless appeal is growing even stronger.
Designed and made at the House of Waterford Crystal, Waterford’s Lismore Castle Bowl will take your breath away. The work of Waterford’s Chief Designer, John Connolly, released to coincide with his fiftieth anniversary working for Waterford, this spectacular piece combines Lismore’s instantly-recognisable Lismore pattern with a shape and border reminiscent of the crenellations of a castle’s parapet - an echo of the House of Waterford’s centuries-old Gothic architecture.
