“Tell me a bedtime story,” a child might say before they’re put to bed.
Well, now it’s their turn to tell the tale, with eeBoo’s Tell Me A Story Creative Story Cards.
Many parents don’t know this, but storytelling is an important part of your child’s literary skills. Obviously reading is the best way to exercise those literacy muscles, however, for those who are not quite there yet, storytelling is the perfect activity to build your child’s pre-reading skills. They will learn about sequencing, develop their vocabulary and gain an understanding of narrative concepts.
Illustrated by Saxton Freymann, these Tell Me A Story Cards will allow for open-ended storytelling, with reoccurring characters and images. Contained in a handy cardboard box, which you easily throw in your handbag, is thirty-six cards to be placed face-up and then drawn by your child. As the visual stimulus, your child uses the cards as a starting point to begin developing and expanding a story line.
Why is that robot rollerblading? What’s inside the box that robot is carrying? It’s up to your child to let their imaginations wander and piece the story together.
