Learn how to make some delicious preserves, while making inroads in preventing food waste at Peter’s Demonstration Kitchen on Saturday, October 22. This is when Alex Elliott-Howery and Jaimee Edwards of Cornersmith Café and Picklery, in partnership with English bottling giant, Kilner, will hold a preserving class to help busy people reduce their food waste, while adding flavour to the everyday.

The proceedings kick off at 11am when Alex and Jaimee will show you how to make Foolproof Jam, Pickled Vegetables and that Korean fermented favourite, Kimchi, all while using the contents of your fridge and fruit bowl. It’s a timely class especially in this gift giving season when a jar of preserves makes such a thoughtful present. Peter's also has a little something for you. Each attendee will receive a goody bag, which includes a 400ml Kilner Strawberry Fruit Jar and a 260ml Kilner Curved Twist Top Jar, filled with freshly made Cornersmith Chutney. Plus lots of other prizes. The lucky door prize is a 3 Litre Kilner Fermentation Set (rrp $89.95). Tickets are on sale now for $20. You'll be in a pickle if you miss out.
