The year, 1977 was huge for Australia, as the setting for HRH Queen Elizabeth's Silver Jubilee Goodwill tour. Next, Swedish pop royalty, ABBA arrived for a live concert extravaganza.

Advance Australia Fair became the National Anthem and heralded the re-election of the 'tower of power', Malcolm Fraser as Prime Minister. Meanwhile during this very same year, a modest gift store opened that would one day become an international shopping destination - the family-owned retailer, Peter's of Kensington was born and shoppers have basically never looked back.
