It is a fact universally acknowledged…
…that some of the best food you will ever enjoy will be in the company of friends.
When Guillaume Brahimi started out writing Guillaume: Food For Friends
, his mission was to write a book that was not just about food, but rather about the way people live. He wanted to celebrate the whole house, not just the kitchen. He wanted to highlight the art of entertaining, and not just the art of cooking. What he produced in the end is a cookbook that not only showcases fine food, but also a book that looks in to nine remarkable houses, and the lives of those who live, cook and entertain within.
Each of these nine houses – My House, Opera House, Manor House, Fashion House, Terrace House, Art House, Beach House, French House and Country house – have their own culinary specialty, mood and occasion. The Art House holds a paella party, while My House is all about cooking with family and friends. Or, if canapés are more your thing, be sure to check out the Beach House. Each House even has its own menu, cropped and situated between the book’s pages, making it feel as though each House is its own restaurant that you’re about to dine within.
Within his exceptional cookbook, Guillaume Brahimi explores everything from fine food to a laidback Sunday linner (his word for the foodie grazing that melds together lunch and dinner), and pairs cocktails and wines to each menu. Try some very classy cigars of smokes salmon with caviar, or enjoy freshly shucked oysters with shallot vinegar. Or perhaps a tuna and egg club sandwich is more your thing?
