Roses...they’re just as English as Royal Albert!
The beautiful bloom has been entrenched in the country’s fabric for
centuries, since Henry VII introduced the Tudor Rose symbol – a result
of the unity of the houses York and Lancaster – at the end of the
English civil wars of the Fourteen Century. After that, the rose became
the national flower of England, so beloved that Royal Albert sought it
out to become one of their most recognisable symbols.
Old Country Roses, Polka Rose, Moonlight Rose, Golden Roses, Old English
Roses, Rambler Rose…the list goes on! Time and time again Royal Albert
have chosen the feminine flower as part of their collections – and now
Royal Albert have decided to give the rose a whole new look.
The result is a collection of mugs made for the modern-day Royal Albert
collector. Classic roses are set against vibrant, fashion forward pink,
blue and white backgrounds and scattered with charming polka dots. But
despite tits modern revamp, the English rose retains a vintage air.
Iconic, English, charming...this is Royal Albert for the 21st Century!
