When we involve art with our lives, something truly wonderful occurs.
Moments of inspiration become accessible to us wherever we go and stories that once lay dormant are brought to life.
That’s why Studio Fresh chose a series of Aboriginal paintings as inspiration for a collection of wonderful fabric purses – all hand-made
These are living stories.
Linus Walapinni worked with the Conservation Commission in parks and wildlife before he retired and began to spend more time caring for his family. As the son of prominent Jilamara artist Freda Warlapinni, he began to channel this influence into his own art. He began painting for Jilamara Arts and Craft Association in 2002 and became one of their most interesting and fascinating artists.
Studio Fresh has used Linus’ painting Jilamara 2007
, to create a series of purses completely and lovingly made by hand from 100% cotton.
With a percentage of each sale going to the artist, these purses continue to tell beautiful stories that will also endure.
