Gift Registry Frequently Asked Questions

Create A Registry

We suggest having your registry set up by the time you send out your invitations.

In fact, as a part of our service, we can provide you with cards to include with your invitations. Just let us know how many cards you require, and where you'd like us to post them, and we'll take care of it for you.

Remember, you're free to add and remove items as frequently as you like until your registry closes (as long as they haven't been purchased, of course) so there's no need for your first selections to be final!

Setting up a gift registry here at Peter's is free!

Registry cancellations close to your event, incur a late stage cancellation fee of $50.

When your guests purchase a gift from your registry, they'll be charged a flat rate handling fee per order to have their gift included with your bulk registry delivery. This charge includes gift wrapping and a card your guests can personalise. The handling fee ranges from $5 to $10 per order depending on the delivery address for the gift registry. Delivery to addresses in our designated Sydney Metro area do not incur a handling fee.

Guests who choose to send their gift separately to the main delivery will be charged postage, at our regular postage rates.

Yes - if one of your guests decides that they'd like to buy you an extra gift that's not on your registry, that's perfectly fine.

This can be done in-store, or by phone. However, if the gift a guest chooses isn't to your taste, you're able to exchange it or receive a store credit.

Your guests are able to view your registry online by clicking the “Gift Registry” option at the top of every page of our website.

Your guests will then be taken to our Gift Registry page, where they can enter the date of your event, as well as the last name of either of the registrants.

Yes, and they make selecting your gifts so easy! If you visit the Kensington store to set up your registry, just borrow one of our scanners and take a wander around the store.

When you see something you'd like to add to your registry, just scan the barcode of that product. Select as many products as you like, then bring the scanner back to us and we'll upload your selections to your registry.

Although most of the products we stock in our Kensington store are also available for purchase on our website, we have a greater range of items in-store than online. If possible, we recommend you visit our Kensington store to select your gifts in person.

Gift Purchase

Occasionally, in the time between you selecting your gifts and your event, we might run out of stock of a particular product you’ve added to your gift registry.

Your guests are still able to purchase out of stock products. When a guest purchases a product that we don't currently have in stock, we'll place an order with our supplier for that product. If we're unable to source an out of stock product in time for your event, we'll issue you with a Peter's of Kensington in-store credit or gift card, valid for 3 years, in place of that gift.

Yes, we accept purchases from all over the world, however, we deliver Gift Registries within Australia and New Zealand only.

We also offer multi-currency payments for orders.

No problems, it happens all the time.

If the date of your event is fast approaching, and there's an item from your registry you had your heart set on, but no-one's purchased it for you, just log on and buy it for yourself!

Want to go green?

An increasing number of registrants are electing to "go green" when they set up their gift registries. If you choose this option, your gifts will arrive with your guests’ card messages attached – you'll also receive a list of your gifts, and who purchased them for you. We include this with all gift registries.

Of course. We offer gift cards in any denomination.

However, please keep in mind that our Gift Cards are valid for 3 years – and we can't replace gift cards that have been lost or stolen.

Postage & Warranties

When you set up your registry, you'll need to nominate a time and place you’d like your gifts delivered. We'll send all your gifts to you in the one bulk delivery on your confirmed delivery date

For a wedding registry, for instance, you might choose to have your gifts delivered when you return from your honeymoon.

If you live within our designated Sydney delivery area, we'll deliver your registry personally, in our Peter’s of Kensington delivery van. You’ll need to ensure there’s someone present at the address to which we’re delivering your gifts to sign for the delivery.

If you live outside our delivery area, your gifts will be dispatched via Australia Post’s eParcel service or New Zealand Post’s courier service, on the date confirmed when you set up your registry. Please keep in mind that, once dispatched, your gifts will take a few days to reach you. Once again, someone will need to be present at the delivery address to sign for your goods upon their arrival - otherwise your gifts will be taken to your nearest Post Office for you to collect later.

Unfortunately, neither Australia Post nor New Zealand Post is able to redeliver your gifts if you've missed your original delivery.

For New Zealand deliveries any import charges issued by the New Zealand government are payable by the recipient of the order. The recipient may need to pay these charges before they can take delivery of the order. Any fees or duties are the responsibility of the recipient and cannot be reimbursed by Peter's of Kensington. Terms & Conditions

THE PETER'S OF KENSINGTON WEDDING  AND GIFT REGISTRY IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST YOU IN COMPILING AND MONITORING YOUR GIFT LIST AND PURCHASES FOR YOUR SPECIAL OCCASION. OUR WEDDING AND GIFT REGISTRY AGREEMENT HAS BEEN SET OUT TO ENSURE YOUR REGISTRY RUNS EFFICIENTLY AND WITH LITTLE EFFORT ON YOUR PART. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU UNDERSTAND OUR AGREEMENT PRIOR TO REGISTERING WITH US, AND THIS FORM MUST BE EXECUTED EITHER ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY PRIOR TO THE CREATION OF YOUR REGISTRY.

REGISTRY LISTS

Guests purchasing online or in-store will be charged at the current prices at the time of purchase. This may vary from prices listed at the time of your registration. Guests may add additional gifts of their choice to your delivery.
During the store closure from Christmas Eve to mid-January, only online purchases are available.

GIFT DISCONTINUATION OR OUT-OF-STOCK

Gifts listed on the website are an indication of their availability and pricing at that time. However, the gift's prices and availability may change without prior notice. When a particular gift has been purchased by a guest or the wedding couple, and said product is discontinued or unavailable, Peter's will offer a similar or alternative item. Cash refunds will not be given when gifts are unavailable for any reason, or for any circumstance. Peter's will not notify wedding guests who have purchased a discontinued or unavailable gift, that the gift has been exchanged for another gift. You will be advised at the time of your delivery if a gift purchased was not available. If the gift is no longer available, or will be delayed in delivery from our supplier, an alternative or an in-store credit will be offered.

GIFT REGISTRY SERVICE

Within NSW and ACT, handling of $5 per order will be charged to your guests. To all other Australian states and territories, handling of $8 per order will be charged to your guests.
A delivery fee may be charged to each guest who purchases a gift from a gift registry, either online, via phone or in-store.

RETURNS AND/OR EXCHANGES

Gifts may only be returned or exchanged by Peter's if they are faulty, damaged or have been duplicated by Peter's, not another retailer. There are no returns, exchanges, credit notes or refunds for goods purchased from your Gift Registry, except where the goods are a double up on the Peter's of Kensington Gift Registry.
If you believe that a gift has been delivered damaged or faulty, please notify Peter's within forty eight (48) hours of delivery to qualify for exchange or credit. Peter's will assess the item to determine whether it is damaged or faulty, and will provide a replacement or exchange the gift where possible.
Returns and exchanges must be issued by Gift Registry staff and can be arranged by appointment only. Please phone (02) 9662 7373 to arrange an appointment to return or exchange gifts.

PRODUCT WARRANTIES

Warranty, service and support of products are provided directly to you by the manufacturer and supplier of the product. Subject to any rights which may not be excluded or limited, Peter's makes not representations or warranties regarding any products.

DELIVERY OF YOUR GIFTS

Gifts can only be delivered to a pre-arranged address. No dispatch will take place without final confirmation 24 hours prior to the scheduled date.
The option for purchases to go with your delivery will close 48 hours before your dispatch date. After this, guests can still purchase from your list by coming in-store or by nominating a postal address to send their gifts to.
Delivery is offered in a specified Sydney delivery area, Monday to Saturday on the dispatch date you select. It is your responsibility to ensure delivery can be accepted on the pre-arranged day. Specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Should no-one be present upon delivery, a fee will apply for re-delivery.
Deliveries outside greater Sydney will be dispatched via Australia Post's eParcel service on the dispatch date you select. Australia Post generally indicates 3-5 working days for postal delivery of registries.
If no one is available at the time of delivery, Australia Post will leave a slip for collection from the post office in your letter box.
Please phone our Wedding & Gift Registry department on (02)9662 7373 if you are unsure your address is in our delivery area.
Dispatch cannot occur during the store's closure from Christmas Eve to mid-January.

CANCELLATION

In the event of a cancelled gift registry, the signatories to a gift registry must provide written confirmation to place the list on hold. Peter's will refund monies paid to guest when authorised by signatories to this agreement. The registry will be subject to a $50.00 administrative charge at the time of cancellation.

GIFT STORAGE

Peter's will organise one bulk delivery for your gifts. Gifts can be stored, at the discretion of the signatories to the registry, by Peter's for no fee for a period of six (6) weeks after the event date.

SECURITY

Purchases from your gift registry online are regulated by the terms and conditions and privacy policy accessible through the Peter's main website: www.petersofkensington.com.au, and are governed by the jurisdiction and laws of New South Wales, Australia.
